Easy Shirred-Waist Blouse

Forgive the poor image quality here, please; I quickly finished the last few lines of stitching on this blouse after my workout during the wee one’s nap and I wanted to snap a quick photo before she woke up so I could post this today. And now forgive that run-on sentence.

This blouse is based on The Most Flattering Shirt Dress design by Jaime at Prudent Baby.

So easy and inexpensive to make, I altered the design slightly with a shallow neckline instead of a V, a couple extra rows of shirring around the waist, and one row of shirring around the top of the armholes (but not all the way around the bottom) to create a little ruffled edge sleeve, and the result is this very cute and very flattering blouse.

I have two more pieces of pretty, floral, swiss-dot fabric destined for this design. I’ll post photos when they’re done, and, hopefully, some better shots of this one too!
